Radiologists have different liability issues than physicians who come into daily contact with their patients.  This course offers radiology-specific tips on how to prevent medical errors in radiology and improve patient safety.

Objectives
When you complete this course, you should be able to:
1. Take the steps necessary to fulfill your duty to the patient in situations that commonly underlie malpractice claims against radiologists.
2. Follow ACR documentation and reporting protocols that will likely affect the outcome of a malpractice claim against you.
3. Outline your duties when performing independent medical examinations that are performed for the benefit of third parties.
4. Protect yourself from incurring liability during informal or “curbside” consults.
